A week had passed and Jay was spending less and less time at my house. I wasn't sure if it was my work schedule that had me at the office until well after 9 p.m or Sphynx keeping him occupied.
"Ms. Franco, I have Sphynx on line one, " Jamie informed me.
What did she want? She had been texting me all week and I just kept telling her I was crazy busy with work. I told her I would hit her back but I never did.
"Cream, seriously?. I have been hitting you up trying to get up with you," Sphynx phony ass said.
"Work, work, work," I replied dryly
"Bitch, please. This Friday, you, me, Shandra, Cat and Symone are heading to Boogalou for Johnnys birthday party," she stated.
"I'll see," I stuttered.
"I'm not taking no for an answer plus Johnny keeps asking about you," she replied.
Why on Gods green earth was she telling me this when she knew Jay was my man of 2 years. I had a man, I was a faithful woman and no other man could comare.
"Spynx, I ain't checking for nobody but Jay," I said more aggressively than I wanted to.
"How are you and Jay?", she asked.
"We are great," I lied.
"O, yea? Well, that's good," she said but didn't sound to sure.
This silly bitch had so much nerve. Before me, she was a mute shadowboxer. That's what we called the round the way public aid chicks who never said a word but in the shadows were as big as Muhammad Ali in their own minds.
"Well, I gotta go. I'll let you know if I'll be there," I hung up without saying anything else.
